Can't Check For Updates

If I check for updates, it fails to get any update information.

On Windows 7 and 8, Mixcraft may not be able to connect to check for updates.  This is because starting in January 2020, all websites must support TLS 1.2 for higher security.  If a website does not support TLS 1.2, it will be lowered in trustworthiness and its security ranking.  Windows 10 supports this by default.

(If you are on Vista, ME or XP, Microsoft has stopped supporting those O/S.  There are some hacks, but we recommend upgrading your O/S.)

If you are failing to check for updates in Mixcraft, please ensure that TLS 1.2 is enabled on your computer.  You can do this by bringing up your Internet Options.  You can either find this in Internet Explorer or by typing in "Internet Options" in the Window's search bar.  This will bring up the following dialog.

  • Click the "Advanced tab"
  • Scroll down and click "Use TLS 1.2"
  • Click the "Apply" button.

Now you should be able to check for updates and be more secure!
