What's New in Mixcraft 10.5?

With Mixcraft 10.5 — a free update for Mixcraft 10 owners — Acoustica has taken an already astonishing virtual studio and given it a fresh look with a range of new features to enhance your music-making experience. Every improvement in Mixcraft is centered on inspirationease of use, and stability, allowing musicians to achieve their music goals faster and with professional-level quality. With all of these refinements and customization features, you'll see why Mixcraft is the DAW that's In Tune with You.

Interface Improvements

Mixcraft 10 introduced a fresh, more intuitive interface that remains familiar to fans but is easy for new users to dive in and begin creating. The Mixcraft interface has been revamped to be more intuitive and scalable, regardless of your monitor or resolution. There are more track color options, and you can even give each clip its own individual color. The menus are streamlined, with options to pin pop-up menus open to make multiple changes faster, and batch editing functions are available for any selected MIDI clips directly from the main window. Drag clips and their automation between tracks while maintaining their position in the timeline, and you can temporarily disable snapping. Automation can be dragged, dropped, and copied, and multiple automation points are easier than ever to modify.

New in Mixcraft 10.5! The Quick Access panel enables users to quickly add, remove, and reorder instruments and effects on virtual tracks.

Project Start Panel

The updated Start Panel combines several convenient functions. It gives you everything you need to start a new project, open an existing one, and customize your launch experience. Mixcraft does most of the browsing for you by listing your saved projects in recent order, and provides you with date and project length information. And the search box will help you quickly find just the project you're looking for. A drop-down menu lets you quickly select from your saved templates, and the familiar defaults page now enables you to choose which template to open in Mixcraft. The right side of the Panel also keeps you plugged into Acoustica and the latest Mixcraft content with direct live links to videos, announcements, updates, and tutorials.

New in Mixcraft 10.5! Preset Project Templates, which offer task-specific presets for podcasting setups, mastering, video editing, and more.

New Plug-in Architecture and Manager

We've taken steps in the latest versions of Mixcraft to reduce the risk of lost projects by redesigning the plug-in architecture and giving you better ways to manage your plug-ins. The robust new Plug-In Manager displays installed virtual instruments and effects plug-ins, and the Categories window provides various filters for which plug-ins are displayed. You can even group plug-ins into your own custom collections for more immediate access. The Manager displays several parameters such as VST type, manufacturer, 32- or 64-bit, last used, category, and more. A plug-in can be renamed, and easily enabled/disabled if it is potentially causing issues. 64-bit plug-ins now have a Safe Mode option, allowing them to run in a separate process.

Updated in Mixcraft 10.5: more improvements in stability and plug-in support, making your favorite plug-ins more stable than ever before. And the new Auto-Save feature with user-defined intervals further reduces the risk of projects lost or corrupted due to misbehaving plug-ins.

New! Stem Separation

Mixcraft 10.5 Pro Studio offers an exclusive new feature: the AI-powered Stem Separation tool. With stem separation, users can quickly isolate the constituent parts of a mixed audio file -- such as vocals, piano, drums, and other instruments -- into individual tracks, ready for editing, inspection, or replacement. Load a pre-recorded audio file, right-click on the clip, and choose to Separate into Stems. Just select your preferred options, such as which stems to extract, and click the Separate button. Use it to easily create remixes and mashups of your tunes, or extract segments to create your own samples and loops. Need to learn a guitar part? Solo the new track! Want to record some karaoke? Remove the vocals and record your own!

Ready to take your music to the next level? Then look no further than Mixcraft Pro Studio. Not only does it include dozens of more instruments, effects, and utilities, Pro Studio has some impressive innovations such as the new Track Regions feature. With Track Regions, you can select, move, copy, and paste sections of your project, including multiple clips and automation as a group. Track Regions is a convenient master track and submix track feature that makes light work of retooling song arrangements. Instead of editing and moving individual clips, edits made to the selected horizontal bar in the grouped tracks affect all clips beneath, including region and lane automation. Once you try it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!
