AUTOMATION DRAWING TOOLS

Mixcraft 11 adds a set of drawing tools for creating and editing automation curves directly in any automation lane — draw a filter sweep freehand, or lay down a perfect square-wave tremolo pattern in one drag.

THE TOOLS

  • Freehand — draw any shape; Mixcraft creates the envelope points to match.

  • Line — straight-line ramps between two points.

  • Sine, Square, Sawtooth, Triangle — periodic waveform patterns, great for rhythmic effects.

  • Ramp and Sample & Hold / Random — stepped and randomized patterns.

  • Eraser — remove automation points by dragging across them.

The pattern tools follow the current snap setting, so waveform periods lock to musical divisions.

WORKING FASTER WITH ENVELOPES

  • Twiddle to select — adjusting any knob or slider automatically selects its automation envelope, so the lane you want is always the one you just touched.

  • Show All Active Automation Envelopes — one command reveals every envelope with data on the selected track.

  • Enable/Disable — each automation lane has a toggle to temporarily disable its envelope without deleting it.

  • Group adjusters — when two or more envelope points are selected, a move/adjust handle appears for dragging them as a group (the same handle style used for piano roll CC controllers).

  • Curved and stepped envelope segments render accurately during playback, and Insert Time / Remove Time keep envelopes clean without stray points.
