MULTI-CLIP PIANO ROLL EDITING

Mixcraft 11 lets you work with several MIDI clips in one piano roll session — see a bass line while you edit the keys part, or hop between the clips of a multi-track arrangement without leaving the editor.

THE CLIP DROPDOWN

When multiple MIDI clips are selected, a dropdown appears at the end of the piano roll toolbar showing the current editor clip's color swatch and name:

  • Click the dropdown to see all selected clips, each with its color swatch and name.

  • Hover over a clip in the popup to temporarily preview its notes as the primary clip — without switching.

  • Click a clip to make it the active editor clip.

  • Press Escape while previewing to restore the original clip.

Notes from the non-active clips are drawn as "ghost" notes for reference, in each clip's color, so you can line up parts against each other precisely.
