THE COMP EDITOR
Double-click a comp clip to open the Comp Editor in the Sound tab. The Comp Editor shows every take stacked vertically with full waveform views, and it's where you assemble the final performance.
COMP EDITOR LAYOUT
Comp Mix area (top): shows the final composite result — a visual map of which take is active in each section.
Take tracks (below): one row per take, each with its waveform and section selection controls.
Take headers: display the editable take name, its color swatch, and a delete button.
BUILDING THE COMP
Promote a take: click a section in any take's row to make that take active for that time range. The comp mix at the top updates immediately.
Keyboard navigation: Up/Down arrows switch takes within the current section; Left/Right move between sections.
Resize sections: drag a section's edges to move the transition point between takes.
Crossfades: drag the pill-shaped handle at a section boundary to adjust the crossfade duration. A tooltip shows the length in milliseconds.
Section volume: drag vertically within a section to adjust its volume from 0% to 400% (default 100%). Section volume is preserved when you promote a different take in that section.
Offset adjustment: drag in the lower part of a section to nudge that take's alignment within the section — great for tightening a slightly early or late phrase.
PREVIEWING AND FINISHING
Click the Play button in the Comp Editor toolbar to audition the comp at its natural tempo. Preview playback loops at the end of the comp's visible region.
When you're happy with the result, use Finalize to render the comp into a single audio clip, or just close the editor — the comp plays back in your project exactly as assembled. See Comp Clips: Recording and Comping Takes for details on finalizing and uncomping.
The Comp Editor supports the same snap settings as the main timeline, shows an H:M:S timeline synced with the project, and works correctly with tempo-adjusted clips at any project tempo.
