LYRIC TRACK AND KARAOKE VIEW

Mixcraft 11 adds a Lyric Lane to the master track for creating timestamped lyrics — write and position your lyrics on the timeline, then flip to a scrolling karaoke display (with chords!) when it's time to sing.

Show or hide the lyric lane from the View menu (Show Lyrics). Lyrics appear in a non-scrolling pinned mini-lane above the track area, so they stay visible while you scroll through tracks.

CREATING AND EDITING LYRIC BLOCKS

  • Double-click the lyric lane to create a lyric block and start typing immediately. Click away to save, or press Escape to cancel.

  • Press Tab while editing to jump to the next block — or create a new one at the end.

  • Drag blocks to reposition them; drag their edges to resize. Ctrl+resize stretches all selected blocks together.

  • Cut, copy, paste, and delete with the standard shortcuts. Split divides a block at the caret, keeping the text.

  • Each block gets a random color (changeable with the color picker); new blocks reuse your last-used block length.

When dragging a block, Mixcraft picks the right behavior from where you drop it: Normal drops at the mouse position when there's room, Replace replaces the block you're deep inside of, and Insert pushes subsequent blocks along when you drop near a block edge.

THE LYRIC EDITOR DIALOG

Double-click a lyric block (or use the lyric lane header) to open the lyric editor — a dialog with your full lyric sheet on the left and per-line timing controls.

  • Click a line to move the play indicator to its start.

  • Set Start / Set End commands retime a line against the current playback position. Set Start preserves the line's duration and pushes the following lines to the right; if playback is running, it jumps so you immediately hear the retimed line.

  • Edit the full text freely — Mixcraft rebuilds the blocks while preserving timing and color for unchanged lines, including empty timed lines.

  • A maximize/restore button on the title bar gives you a full-screen writing view.

SING (KARAOKE) MODE

Toggle from Edit to Sing mode with the toolbar buttons. Sing mode is a scrolling karaoke display for performance and tracking sessions:

  • Lyrics scroll automatically during playback, with the current line highlighted.

  • Chord overlay — chord symbols (or tab diagrams) from a chord track render above the lyric line. The chord toggles appear when a chord track is selected; the chord source dropdown lists tracks as "track number: track name".

  • Click any lyric line to seek there — a single click during playback jumps the transport.

  • In the gap between two lines, a thin progress bar shows where you are, and the view auto-scrolls so the indicator stays near the top.
